UNIT GROUP 2335: Industrial Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, and Production Engineers

Industrial Engineers and Production Engineers are responsible for designing, arranging, and supervising the construction, operation, and upkeep of mechanical and processing plants and installations, establishing programs for the coordination of manufacturing processes, and ensuring cost-effective resource use.
 

Indicative Skill and Expertise Level

Talking About Australia and New Zealand, the majority of professions in this unit category need a level of expertise equivalent to a bachelor's degree or above. Relevant experience and/or on-the-job training may be required in addition to the formal qualification (ANZSCO Skill Level 1). Registration or licensing will probably be required.

 

Tasks and responsibilities involve:

  • Examining operational statements, organizational charts, and project data to identify worker and workgroup duties and responsibilities and to point out areas of overlap.
