Guidelines for RPL Writing.

There are some guidelines and rules you will have to follow for a good RPL Report.

  • The RPL Report has to clearly demonstrate your practical work experience.

  • Plagiarism is strictly not tolerated. So, make sure that the report you write contains absolutely no plagiarism. You could be potentially banned if plagiarism content is found in your report.

  • The job description you provide or the occupation that you are applying for must be relevant to the ANZSCO Code and should also be closely related to your chosen occupation.

Tips for writing a good ACS RPL Report:

As per the requirement from the ACS, you will have to write two project reports for your RPL Report. Among this, one of the projects must have been completed within the last 3 year period from your Visa Application and the other project within the last 5 years, Following are the points you should take into consideration for your RPL.

  • Choose the project that will best reflect your knowledge and skills as per the chosen occupational ANZSCO Code.

  • Provide a clear description of your roles and responsibility.

  • Show how your ideas were taken into action and implemented on the project. Clearly mentioned all the methods and processes that were utilized.

  • Also, mention the project management and quality assurance used during the project management to show your managerial skills.

Eligibility Criteria:

The eligibility criteria differs for every occupation and is majorly based on the applicant’s educational background and their work experience.

1. Temporary Graduate

Applicants must have an Australian Bachelor's Degree or Higher. Their degree must be strictly relevant to their chosen occupation or be ICT Major. It is not mandatory for the applicants to have worked in their nominated field.

2. Post Australian Study Skills Assessment

The required criteria is the same here as that of a Temporary Graduate. The only addition here is that the applicant must have a post-study work experience in the relevant field for one year or must have completed the ACS Professional Year Program.

3. Skills

Don't forget to include all of the keywords that clearly identify you, as well as your profession and job function.

  • If you have a bachelor's degree or higher and are an ICT major, you must demonstrate that you have either 4 years of relevant job experience in the past or 2 years of relevant work experience within the last 10 years.
  • You must demonstrate four years of prior relevant job experience if your Bachelor's degree or higher is unrelated to your field of study in information and communication technologies.
  • You must demonstrate 5 years of connected job experience within the last 10 years or 6 years of related work experience if you have a Bachelor's degree or higher that is directly related to your occupation as an ICT major.
  • If you have a bachelor's degree or higher in an ICT minor that is unrelated to your field of employment, you must demonstrate that you have had at least six years of recent, relevant work experience.
  • If you have a diploma, advanced diploma, or associate degree and your job in the ICT field relates to your degree, you must provide documentation of 5 years of recent work experience or 6 years of prior relevant work experience.
  • If you have a Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Associate Degree and it is an ICT major regardless of your job, you only need to show 6 years of relevant past work experience.

4. RPL

  • Applicants with a non-ICT Diploma or above can demonstrate six years of relevant work experience and a successful RPL application.

What is ICT Major and ICT Minor?

Applicants with a bachelor's degree or above must have completed at least 33% of their computer science studies in an ICT major. Diploma, Advanced Diploma, or Associate Degree applicants must have completed at least 50% of the computer science courses in the ICT major. A graduate with a bachelor's degree or above will be assessed as an ICT minor if her computer science content is two-thirds of her major's requirements.
